Omni-Directional Surround Speaker The JVC-trademark Omni-Directional Surround Speaker provides a wide sound field and realistic acoustic ambience -- just as in a large movie theater with several speakers. The upward-facing speaker and a matching-shaped diffuser direct sound not only forward, but also upward and in all horizontal directions. The diffuser is slightly tilted to direct sound to the listening position (Version 2.0). The unique construction uses the room reverberation -- echoes from walls and ceiling -- for further expansion of acoustic ambience. The latest ('06) version has the shape of a slim tower, and uses a dome tweeter which delivers clearer treble from surround channels.
