Are there any requirements in connecting this TV power cord?
Yes, as mentioned in the instruction manual make sure the power cord is connected directly to the wall outlet and not the cable box for example. Using the cable box power outlet may affect the cooling process of TV lamp.
How can I test my remote control?
If you want to make sure that your remote control is working there is a simple test that can be done with a camera (cell phone or video camera like EVERIO). Simply make sure that your camera is in record mode and press any remote button while pointing the remote at the camera. You will see a strong white or blue light flash on the screen if remote is working. Please make sure you have working batteries in the remote of course before attempting this test.
Can any of the following models: HD-70FH96, HD-61FH96 or HD-56FH96 accept 1080P signal?
No, only acceptable input signals are 480i, 480p, 720p and 1080i. Of course all video signal resolutions will be up converted to 1080p.
Which HDILA TVs will accept 1080p signals?
2007 models: HD-58S998, HD-65S998, HD-70GC78, HD-70G678 and the following 2006 models: HD-52FA97, HD-56FB97, HD-56FC97, HD-56FN97, HD-56FH97 HD-61FB97, HD-61FC97, HD-61FN97, HD-61FH97, HD-70FN97 and HD-70FH97 are capable of accepting 1080p signal from external source thru HDMI. Of course 480i, 480p, 720p and 1080i signals will be up converted to 1080p.
Can I connect Sony PLAYSTATION® 3 (PS3) to my TV?
Yes, it is possible. Please make sure that video output format of PS3 is set according to specifications of the TV for connection type you will use.
I cannot see picture on TV when I connect Sony PLAYSTATION® 3 (PS3).
There is a suggestion in Sony PS3operating instructions to reset video output format by pressing and holding (for more then 5 seconds) PS3 power button. Please try it. For more detailed information regarding the reset procedure check PS3 operating instructions.
Can HDILA TV experience the image burn in phenomenon?
Under certain conditions HDILA display may have what appears to be an image burn in but unlike in case of CRTs or plasma TVs, this is temporary. If you see what appears as image burn in, change the channel or video input and picture gradually should return to normal .
My DVD movie says WIDESCREEN on the box but when viewing it I still have black bars on top and bottom of my 16:9 TV?
There are two formats of WIDESCREEN that can be found on DVD movies. One is almost exactly the ratio of the TV screen and then movie will not have the black bars. To identify it look for numbers 2.35:1 on the cover of the DVD disc. The second format will be still showing black bars and can be identified by 1.85:1 on DVD cover. In that case, to fill entire TV screen use ASPECT button on JVC TV remote.
My TV has no sound even with volume set high.
There may be several reasons for that situation: TV SPEAKERS in MENU may be set to OFF (certain older models only). If cable box/satellite is used, its own volume maybe set low or muted (depends on c/box type). If HDMI/DVI cable is used check DIGITAL AUDIO settings in TV MENU. Certain models have feature called CENTER CHANNEL, check its settings in TV MENU. If you still experiencing problems please contact our call center at 800 252 5722.
I use an HDMI source that sends Dolby Digital audio. My TV has no sound, why?
The TV will only accept a digital (2ch PCM) stereo audio signal through the HDMI connector. To get sound, either change the audio setting on your source to send out only stereo signal or connect analog RCA cables to the TV. When using the audio cables select ANALOG instead of DIGITAL-IN AUDIO from the TV's menu (see TV's instruction manual).
What is the life expectancy of the lamp?
On average it is expected to be approx. 6,000. hours.
I want to install this TV in wall enclosure. Is it possible?
No. Because of the cooling needs of the lamp itself, there must be proper ventilation provided at the back of the TV. Therefore it is recommended to follow the installation instructions on page 4 of the instruction manual. Space is required between the sides/top of the TV and the surrounding walls/enclosures.
I can hear the fan running inside my HDILA Television, is this normal?
This is normal. There are 3 fans inside an HDILA Television to cool down the Mercury lamp and other electronic parts. Depending on the surface upon which the TV is placed, fan noise may be audible at low volume levels.
Where is the sensor for the remote located?
The sensor is located behind the TV screen, so the remote should be pointed at the TV itself.
